Ein stiller Blick zurück. Die Ausstellung zeigt digitalisierte hochkontrastreiche schwarz-weiss Fotos von Phill Niblocks „Light Patterns“ – verblassende Erinnerungen, Momentaufnahmen von seinen weiten Reisen. Daneben wird seine Videoarbeit „Anecdotes from Childhood“ , in der Menschen spontan Geschichten aus ihrer Kindheit erzählen, gestellt. (OV). Eine Landschaft der Erinnerungen.

A series of high contrast black and white slides made during Phill Niblock travels, slowly dissolving through one another. “The dissolving unintentionally seems to be mimicking the way the memories fade into one another, the way they interrelate, the way the various time layers are being superimposed”.—Guy de Bievre
„Anecdotes from Childhood“
1986–92
Between 1985 and 1992 composer and filmmaker Phill Niblock, during his global journeys, asked a number of people (relatives, friends, or again accidental acquaintances) to spontaneously relate childhood memories in front of a video camera. The composition of the steady image remained the same for all ‘portraits’: only the head appears, slightly off centred, with a backdrop varying from landscape to room to wall.
